What a week it has been with some snowy and icy road conditions. However, this did not stop our fabulous pupils having a ‘ball’ in the snow! There was even time for a bit of football, wellies and all! Have a look at our happy boys and girls.

Cuppa and Catch Up
Thank you to all of our parents, grandparents and siblings that came along to our first ‘Cuppa and Catch Up’ event in school. We had a lovely morning and it was so nice to see so many familiar faces. We really hope that this is the start of many relaxing events like this.
Sports Day 2022
We had a lovely day on Tuesday 14th June celebrating our school Sports Day. The children particpated so well and tried their very best in every race. Well done boys and girls!
It was so lovely to be able to welcome families back to spectate after not being able to do this in previous years due to covid. Thank you all for coming.
A huge thank you to Mr Beattie for his brilliant organisation on the day and to all staff members for their continued hard work.
The Platinum Jubilee
What an amazing afternoon we had on Wednesday 1st June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We were so fortunate to have secured funding for this event through ‘The National Lottery’ Fund. This meant that absolutely everything was free! There was lots to enjoy including bouncy castles, a coffee cart, BBQ, face painting, lucky dip, ice cream van, Erne Highland Dancers and The Garrison Accordion Band.
Our school playground was packed with families and members of the wider community, which was so lovely to see after a long spell of not being able to socially interact. The weather was fabulous too!
Thank you all so much for attending and your continued support.
Easter Fun Day
Well what a day we had on Tuesday! We started the day with a wonderful surprise guest….Mr Tom Sweeney! Tom provided both classes with some wonderful entertainment, it was amazing to hear the laughter and music from our boys and girls. It was simply lovely to have a visitor back in our school.
Following this we had an Easter Treat hunt, the pupils had great fun searching for all of the yummy sweets and chocolate!
After lunch we had our farewell and happy retirement assembly for Ms Noble. During this assembly prize winners for Centra Belleek’s colouring competition were announced. Well done to all of the 1st and second prize winners, I’m sure it was very difficult to decide from so many amazing entries! A huge thank you to the Centra in Belleek for providing yummy Easter Eggs for the winners as well as a Creme Egg for each child that took part.
We wish you all a very happy and healthy Easter! School Resumes on Monday 25th April 2022.
Happy Heart and Happy Mind
Last week in school we focused on keeping ourselves healthy both physically and mentally. We talked about healthy eating, exercise and explored our top tips to feeling happy.
Miss McMorris’ class sampled some delicious fruit; exploring their senses. They also made support balloons to promote positive mental health. To finish off their week they made some beautiful Valentine’s Day pictures.
Mr Beattie’s class were busy giving their top tips for maintaining a healthy mind. As the theme for Children’s Mental Health week was ‘Growing Together’ this year, Mr Beattie’s pupils created a diagram illustrating their past growth and future growth, all of which has already shaped and will shape them as a person. They also looked closely at the structure of the heart and made some lovely Valentine’s Day cards to finish off their week.
To celebrate ‘Happy Heart Day’ on Friday, we encouraged our pupils to wear red. Take a look at our busy week, well done boys and girls! IMG_0484
The Sound of Music
Mr Beattie’s class have been experimenting with the sound of music. They were put into groups and each group was presented with music notes on their ipad and either music chimes or bells. Soon the sound of well known rhymes and songs filled our corridors! Fantastic team work everyone!
Lots of fun outdoors
Our pupils love wrapping up warm and exploring outdoor play. We were even lucky to have some snow last week to enjoy! There is a lovely woodland area to look out for signs of wildlife, build dens and experiment with the mud kitchen. Our foundation stage and Key stage 1 pupils enjoy developing their pedalling skills and speed when using the wheeled vehicles.
